The Houston Cancer Institute Offers Cancer Community Support Groups

Houston, Texas- - - - -Dr. Maria Scouros, the director of The Houston Cancer Institute (HCI), PA, announced today that HCI is offering cancer support groups for patients undergoing chemo-therapy and cancer treatments.  The peer support groups are free of charge and open to the community, whether or not a patient at the Houston Cancer Institute.  The groups are meeting once a week on Monday from 2 PM until 3 PM, at 1220 Blalock, Houston, TX 77055, Suite 200. 

The office is one block north of I-10.  There is plenty of free parking at the door.  Refreshments are served.  For more information and to RSVP, call registered oncology nurse, Nancy Ponterella, RN, O.C.N., at 713-464-9559.

On the last Monday of the month, a physician from the Houston Cancer Institute will be the guest speaker at the Support Group meetings at 2 PM.  On February 23rd, HCI physician, Dr. Yelena Bracchini, will speak on Understanding Your Blood Values.  For more information, please go to the Website at http://www.houstoncancerinstitute.com .

The Houston Cancer Institute (HCI), PA, was founded by international hematologist and oncologist, Dr. Maria A. Scouros, in 1984.   Support groups are offered in Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, and Chinese.
